A study release earlier this year identified an association between the long-term use of marijuana and lower verbal memory in middle age. Other studies show a significantly higher likelihood of addiction when THC/marijuana use begins at a younger age. Those studies about addiction with this data about memory loss increase the importance for parents, community leaders and teachers to understand the dangers of THC and how to help teenagers understand the consequences before they begin using. A University of Michigan press release summarizes the results.
